May 2019 - We just finished this building for a customer in Innisfail, AB.

He emailed a review for us to put on our site for all to read.

"Economy Structures had posted a spring special advertisement on Kijiji for a pole building that suited my cold storage needs. We had several phone calls and emails while working through the details of their specific building practices which allowed me to compare to various alternative providers and suppliers across Alberta. Early in April, Economy Structures stopped by my farm to look at the bulding location. We further discussed details of their specific build practices, based on this discussion as well as the value pricing offered, I made the decision to move forward.

Even though they were working 2.5 hours from their home base in Spruce Grove the Economy Structure promise was to have the building complete in a few days and by the end of May. There would be no additional charges for travel, or living out, they honored the price advertised on Kijiji.

Economy Structures called about 10 days prior to their arrival to site and they arrived on site as promised, fully loaded with all material, equipment and tools to get the job done. From the first hour on site it was obvious the three person crew worked very well together, each person knew his assigned job and did the job well.

I was invited to look over the build progress and ask any questions I may have. I witnessed the post holes drilled to the proper depth, the squaring of the building, the hoisting of the roof truss system and the finishing of the exterior metal cladding. I was impressed with the full on focus to getting the build quality to the highest standard. The crew did not leave the job site, there were no interrupting trips to other locations, no long winded cellular calls from other customers, just a complete focus on getting my job completed correctly. In just two and a half days the building was standing, built to specification, square, plum, and metal installed to a detail and quality I have not witnessed in this industry. Attention to detail is everything for these guys and it shows in the end result, there is not a screw or a nail out of place, all lumber is faced with the best side showing, the man door is properly installed, this level of attention runs throughout the job.

The next day I was cleaning up the neatly piled construction waste at the building location. The site was left neat and tidy, the gravel work area and building perimeter was nicely back bladed. What impressed me was the crew had taken their personal waste away, there were no coffee cups, no burger wrappers left behind to blow away, it was just the lumber offcuts and material packaging in the waste pile.

The first thing if you have been following along all ready should be what we are charging for various buildings. We often run specials, advertising our prices. I often get asked if this is a typo or "How can you do this for so much less than the others?" Well, our response is that we believe in honest pricing for our hardworking customers!" We don't need to price gouge or become rich off of 1 job.

Altogether there are 11 photos to this story.

3 of how the building really looks and the rest are the devestating effects of a tornado that swept through this area.

We built this Farm Structure for an amazing couple in 2020 near Sundre, and as you all know, we build Alberta wide. So when we were on our travels to do the above mentioned 30'w x 42'l x 16'h with the lean to, we came across this and found out that a tornado had hit in July 2022.

The damage all around the area is unbelievable. In the photo below, you can see a bit of a horse shelter, of what it looked like and when you look at the very first photo, this is what it actually looks like now.

In the above photos you can see which was just up the road from our customers place, the metal that had been tossed in the tree, and a sheet of OSB that a branch broke through.

As for the horse shelter, There was actually 2 of these shelters that were actually sucked up in the tornado, trees toppled at the front of their house that just narrowly missed their windows, trees toppled just to the side of their property along a ridge, shingles removed on their quanset, and just across the road are where some of these photos were taken, the trees are really toppled. The list is endless for the destruction...in yet in the middle of everything, here is our structure we built.

Pretty amazing how a tornado hits here and misses there.

We just got our winner for the weirdest item we have ever drilled through when drilling our piles for our buildings.

Believe me - this is not a contest.

This is a 1953 chev Bel Air.

The last photo has the trunk in it and you can plainly see Car Mart still on the tag.

The customer did some extensive research to find this info out.

There used to be a barn in this location but had been torn down years ago. The barn was built in early 60's. Therefore, this car would have only been around 5 - 8 years old when it was buried in its entirety.

Was quite the find!

JUST AN INTERESTING POST...

We have another winner!

It is true that build all over Alberta, but this was the hardest place we have ever had to get into.

Nothing like a good pair of tire chains to help out.

Good job...but just so you know there wasn't even a contest going on.
